Richard A. Porras serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of The Garick Group, Inc., one of the Southwest’s leading mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors. He oversees the company’s legal strategy, risk management, contract negotiation, and corporate governance, providing executive guidance on complex construction, operational, and compliance matters.

With nearly three decades of legal and leadership experience, Mr. Porras brings seasoned judgment and disciplined oversight to the organization. Prior to joining Garick’s executive leadership team, he practiced law in both the public and private sectors, serving as a Partner in private practice and holding positions as Assistant Federal Public Defender and Assistant District Attorney. He also served the City of El Paso as Associate Judge and Municipal Court Judge.

In addition to his corporate leadership, Mr. Porras currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Commissioners for Housing Opportunity Management Enterprises (HOME), supporting responsible development and affordable housing initiatives within the region.

He earned his Juris Doctor from SMU Dedman School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame.
