Our Founding Principals
Established in 1977, The Garick Group, Inc. was founded by Gary and Mireille Porras under the corporate name of Garick Electric Company. The success of the company quickly flourished because of its commitment to its employees and to the quality, integrity and responsiveness to its clients’ needs. Gary Porras, as Chairman of the Board, continues to lead the next family generation under the corporate name of The Garick Group, Inc. and has expanded the scope of construction services required by the growth of its clients and the demands of an extended new client base.

The present corporate leadership under the direction of Paul Porras, President and CEO and Rick Porras, Executive Vice President and General Counsel is committed and focused on exceeding the clients’ business objectives by utilizing what they have learned throughout the company’s history and by applying the latest construction best practices and technologies.

Executive Management
Gary Porras, Chairman of the Board
Garick Electrical and Mechanical, Inc. was founded by Gary Porras. “Hard Work, Experience, Integrity and Dedication to his Clients and Employees are the foundation of his success story since 1977”. The growth of his business is attributed to a loyal client base that has transformed Garick Electrical and Mechanical into one of the largest Construction Services and Real Estate Development Companies in this region under the new corporate name of The Garick Group, Inc.
Gary has transferred the daily financial and operational management of the company to Paul Porras who serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer and Rick Porras, its Executive Vice President and General Counsel.
Gary Paul Porras, President and CEO
Under the leadership of Paul Porras, a 1994 Business Graduate of St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas and Cathedral High School in El Paso, Texas, the corporation formerly known as Garick Electrical and Mechanical, Inc. has now evolved into a diversified company known as The Garick Group, Inc.. The Garick Group has for decades been a leader in the Electrical and Mechanical business in this region and has now expanded its client services to include Construction Management and Real Estate Development.
Paul Porras is leading the company to meet the construction growth challenges by making significant investments in establishing best practices and developing a core group of specialized professionals that will meet the current corporate growth and the national and regional economic challenges.
Richard A. Porras, Executive Vice President
Richard A. Porras, a 1995 Graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Law and a 1992 Graduate of the University of Notre Dame serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel to The Garick Group, Inc.
In this capacity, Mr. Porras is responsible for providing corporate guidelines and the underlying support for the company’s commercial client contract area, joint ventures, development and real estate acquisition agreements.
Mr. Porras is the company’s legal representative for financing, leasing, real estate, construction, employment, intellectual property, commercial disputes, joint ventures, general commercial matters and addressing preventive law issues such as compliance and regulatory affairs. Mr. Porras is also hands on visiting construction sites and developing client relationships and employee morale.
